The legal limit for tyres is a minimum of 1.6mm of tread across the central 3/4 of the tyre, however the reccomended safe swapping point is actually 3mm as that is when approximately 80% of the usable tread has gone and your ability to stop quickly is rapidly reduced.

At Roadrunner Tyres, we reccomend that you change your tyres at 3mm to get the most from them, whilst being safe on the road.

Your tyre pressures are also of vital importance to keep you safe on the road - varying pressures means varying contact patches which can make the vehicle unstable and much more difficult to control under braking etc. 

It's also worth noting that correct tyre pressures are proven to improve fuel efficiency and make your tyres last longer. 

Your tyres are the only contact you car has with the road, and it is vital they stay in good condition in order to keep yourself, and your passengers, safe.
